The stereo version of this album was re-released in Japan on CD in The album was reissued in the UK on the Super Audio CD format in by Dutton Vocalion. This release is a 2 albums on 1 disc compilation which also contains Chase's album Pure Music. The Dutton Vocalion disc.

  5. Chase was an American Fusion band, formed in by Bill Chase. Bill Chase, Wally Yohn, Walter Clark and John Emma died in a plane crash on 9th August, Their death brought the band to an abrupt end. In the remaining members of the original lineup recorded an album titled 'Watch Closely Now', together with Walter Johnson.

In , a number of the original members got together to record a Chase tribute album titled "Watch closely now", but without Bill Chase, sadly the band also.

  8. Release and reception. The Message was released in October by Sugar Hill Records. It was the only album released while the group's original line-up was together. The album charted at number 53 in the United States and at number 77 in the United Kingdom. It was ranked as the 21st best album of in Robert Christgau's list for the Pazz & Jop critics' poll.
