Supposedly, the commissioner of the K. concerto, De Jean, disliked the original Adagio and had Mozart compose the shorter Andante .

  8. Andante and Scherzo is a very enjoyable romantic quartet divided in two parts. It starts with a slow section, a tenor sax solo followed by the chorus, before jumping into an engaging quick staccato. A highly recommended piece of saxophone quartet literature!
